 Whitworth

    Whitworth used to only allow for monomodal communication when doing any work related to composition. This is interesting because it shows how we can believe that one way to do something is the best way like writing in composition but realize that there any many ways that people communicate as well as these different communication methods can often have more impact than the normal communication methods. For example, you could write an essay or research paper, or you could make them with photographs, music, and videos as this could show what you are trying to convey in the way to want other people to see it which can be meaningful because when we compose it shows a different meaning, this meaning is more left for interpretation from the person reading it rather than the author producing it and depending on the context this could be a positive or a negative. 

Digital Humanities

    Digital humanities are topics about humans, culture, and expression and its problems are not new and most agree that these problems have been around since 1966. The first iteration of this was to digitize everything we know and have about humans. Then we studied all this digital information in a sort of random way no specific tactics or methods just trying everything and anything. Now we are at a point that we are using digital tools to solve digital native problems. I found this interesting because our first goal was to digitize everything that we have and know but what about the all the old history and texts we are still trying to decipher and interpret but we still haven't fully done this physically yet and now we are digitizing it. We have seen how many things in the past have been lost in translation because of wrong or not reviewed interpretations of past history and now we are trying to digitize everything which has even less diversity of people that would be digitizing it will we now lose most of our past because most of the information was lost translation which could be from a non-diverse set of people translating this data into digital data. It should be with high importance that people in each culture, language, religion, politics, economics, and education are able to translate data to digital data rather than a very small global population that doesn't represent the data accurately nor the world whether it be the past, present, or future. 

Digital Native

    What does it mean to be someone who is a digital native, it just means that it is a person who has been surround by technology since birth. As a digital native and soon everyone will be digital natives, we must take a step back from digital technology and understand the positives and the negatives for us as a whole. Digital technology has only been a very small part of human history which is why we must have and push for digital literacy as a part of our lives. Allowing us to critically access digital technology rather than to get rid of it we can study it and see how digital literacy will help current digital natives, non-digital natives, and future digital natives.

Online Profile

    Our online profile is something that we don't often think about or if we do, we tend to think that we are in control of shaping that identity. This is not true. Most people if not anyone can shape your online identity your friends, parents, employees, employers, and even just random people. This is a lot of power that everyone has that we don't often realize. If these different groups all post different types of content of you then which is the real you, what do you want people to see, and how does all this different content shape how people view you and how does it create your digital future. These are important questions we should always be asking ourselves that if the real world or the digital world is real representation of us.
