Data Context

It is interesting as far as social engineering how easy it is to get information from someone and how you can get even more information from people they know. Usually, this information lives within other people which is something we don't often think about that very important data actually comes from the people around us and people we know. So, it is interesting that this data is both kept by the person who created the data and the person who was told the data basically not only do you have to rely on yourself to keep correct data but rely on other people which is harder to do. Some interesting things you could do with the data make up the data for yourself and personal needs such as passwords and security related things this ensures that you only know the real data meaning you could still tell people normal stuff and not be social engineered because you put fake data for your own information.

We think that there will always be the internet and even that the internet is reliable for storing information long term that is it something permanent but really it is? and should we rely on it. As I continue to study more, I feel the answer is not the internet not only is not permanent but it's not reliable. That each and every person needs to be relied on themselves in a way to keep important data that will affect them now and, in the future, something that they can always go back and be able to derive new data from. We often see websites taken down gone forever because there is no one to host them. As well as that these places that host old websites and regular websites have been hacked into before and likely again. It feels that the more advanced we get with certain tech the more we need to make sure it is stored physically rather than only digital which is ironic since these are digital advancements.

There is a lot of interesting and plausible concepts mainly showing the internet in a negative way and the drawbacks of it such as its really something where data goes as a temporary storage. That often these places the host data are made to be temporary, or the physical aspect is a temporary storage even the content on the internet seems very repetitive that often we see content that seems very generated and that everyone sees the same things that and really could be shaping everyone's lives from generated content. It is interesting to see what's more real on the internet now the regular web we know or the dark web between smaller parties of people.
